Is anybody here reading something that feels adjacent to this? I’m always curious to see what there is to read. Welcoming all suggestions here, not matter how outlandish and indirect they may seem!
He's an athiest so the budhist stuff was very light. It is very rigourous and every statement is backed up by a referenced source./study.
It focuses on the core delusions we have that prevent us from being happy, I found it very instructive in catching myself out thinking in a negative way that I'v become used to but isn't necesarily based on sound reasoning.
It's also one of the best written non fiction books I've ever read and Ive read alot. The structure is very clever.
Try The Ten Worlds: The New Psychology of Happiness
Book by Alex Lickerman and Ash ElDifraw
Its, Amaaazing
Written in the style of a platonic dialogue
It looks interesting,
I'm curious what you found meaningful in that book.
I'd also want to know if you felt it was (1) rigorous and (2) explicitly buddhist
Just BTW I love the artistic vibe of your stubstack
thanks!
